Volumes

Volume One

The definitive collection of the first Buffy comics starts here. This first massive volume begins at the beginning – "The Origin", a faithful adaptation of creator Joss Whedon's original Buffy screenplay. The newly chosen Slayer's road to Sunnydale continues by way of Vegas in "Viva Las Buffy!" and a mental institution in "Slayer, Interrupted, and scenes of high school, the early Scoobies, and an English librarian lead the way into Season One – and The Goon creator Eric Powell gives a look at Spike and Drusilla causing havoc at the 1933 World's Fair.

Volume Two

Some of the best Buffy comics to see print are collected in this second volume of our comprehensive series. Buffy starts to make her way from Los Angeles to Sunnydale – enduring both her parents' divorce and an annoying little sister in "A Stake to the Heart". A souled vampire makes his first appearance, Spike and Drusilla cleave a bloody path toward the West Coast, and the Scooby Gang forms at last. In addition to a tale from the Buffy stalwarts Fabian Nicieza and Cliff Richards, comics heavyweight Ryan Sook illustrates critically acclaimed stories from Buffy the Vampire Slayer show writer Doug Petrie, star James Marsters ("Spike"), and novelist Christopher Golden.

Volume Three

The definitive Buffy the Vampire Slayer Omnibus series continues – including the first issue of the original monthly series, where readers dive headfirst into the Slayer's turbulent life in Sunnydale, where dating prospects are elusive, and the dueling of demons and vampires is pervasive as ever. Volume Three jumps into Season Three of the television series with famed writers Andi Watson (Clubbing) and Christopher Golden (Baltimore: or the Steadfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire), and features the earliest stories by artist Cliff Richards, whose work has become synonymous with Buffy.

Volume Four

Season Three of Buffy the Vampire Slayer concludes in this fourth Buffy Omnibus, which has the Slayer tackling a familiar evil – the sexy, venomous vampire Selke in Andi Watson's memorable story arc, "Bad Blood." Novelist Christopher Golden (Baltimore, or the Steadfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire) and comics creator Eric Powell (The Goon, Action Comics) join forces to explore Spike and Dru's tumultuous break-up in the short story "Who Made Who." And when an old flame of Angel's comes to Sunnydale looking for help, Buffy and Angel aid in her fight against "The Hollower," an ancient evil returned. As Graduation Day comes to its fateful end, Buffy and Angel must say goodbye as the vampire with a soul journeys to his new home in Los Angeles.

Volume Five

Volume Five picks up with the destruction of Sunnydale High in Season Three of the television series, and goes straight into the college years. Buffy TV writer Jane Espenson and longtime Buffy artist Cliff Richards join forces with "Haunted," in which Faith lies in a coma as the Mayor's ghost plagues Buffy's dreams. This collection includes the five-issue arc titled "The Blood of Carthage," by novelist Christopher Golden, and chronicles the start of Buffy's romance with Riley Finn and Anya's reintroduction into Xander's life. The book concludes with Oz's travels away from Sunnydale, where he learns about his origin and how to control the wolf inside him, all so he can return to the woman he loves.

Volume Six

Volume Six of the Buffy Omnibus series delves further into the lives of Buffy and her closest friends – Willow, Xander, and Giles. As Season Four gives way to Season Five, Buffy and Angel must reunite in Los Angeles to fight a cruel enemy from Angelus's past, and battle some internal demons of their own in Christopher Golden and Tom Sniegoski's Buffy/Angel crossover "Past Lives." Meanwhile, things really heat up between Buffy and her sometime flame, Riley Finn. Willow and Tara's relationship blossoms, and Dawn suddenly enters the scene a demanding teenager whose very existence causes Buffy and her friends to question their own memories. Jane Espenson – television writer of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Battlestar: Galactica – pens the hilarious spy thriller "Jonathan – Codename: Comrades," and Golden teams with Eric Powell (The Goon) to explore Giles's mysterious past in "Beyond the Pale."

Volume Seven

Buffy is heartbroken following the tragic loss of her mother, but she can't mourn long, as the Hellmouth never sleeps. In Tom Fassbender, Jim Pascoe, and Cliff Richard's "Ugly Little Monsters", the Slayer must contend with deformed demon children, a volatile teenage sister, and a love-struck vampire – Spike. Troubled by visions of monsters fought and of those to come, Buffy must sacrifice herself for Dawn, and her death takes a toll on the Scooby Gang. Without their Slayer, these close friends must band together and confront demons, reptilian sorcerers, and crazed forest creatures in stories written by Amber Benson (Tara), acclaimed Buffy novelist Christopher Golden, and television writer Jane Espenson, who presents the secret Season Six rendezvous between Buffy and Angel through the imaginations of the Slayer's closest friends. The original series reaches its grand finale with the gang reunited and going on a long trip to hell where Angel, Faith, and Oz return to Buffy's life. Jam-packed with action and adventure featuring favorite characters from the television series, Buffy Omnibus Volume Seven explores Seasons Five and Six of the television show, leading into Joss Whedon's award-winning Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight comics.
